[コンセプト Concept]
冷え切った空気を吸い込むと、身体の奥がチリチリとする感覚に自分が呼吸していることを覚える。吐いた息が白いのは、私たちが温度を保っている証だ。
3月に北海道で流氷を見た。
真っ白な地平線に太陽の光が反射して、目が洗われるようだった。手前にはいくつも割れ目があり、それが雪で閉ざされた海であることを思い起こさせる。
視界に広がる風景に、自分の輪郭が溶け出していくのを感じた。
足は風景と身体をつなぐ静かな接点であり、地面に触れることで私たちは世界に支えられ、また支え返している。
この作品に登場する足の像は、自身の皮膚を裏返すようにかたどったもの。
触れられる身体としての自分を意識しながら、歩くことの中にある世界との関係や、風景との呼応を見つめている。
When I draw in the frigid air, a soft electric tingle stirs deep within, affirming each breath. The pale plume of my exhale drifts before me—a testament to the warmth we guard against the cold.
In March, I witnessed the drift ice off Hokkaido’s shores.
A boundless white horizon mirrored the sun’s brilliance, as if my eyes were bathed anew in light. Fractures fanned out across the foreground, whispering that beneath its snowy veil the sea still lives.
Before that vast expanse, I felt the edges of myself blur and melt into the landscape.
Feet—the conduit between earth and body—remind us that in every step we both receive the world’s embrace and give ourselves back to it.
The sculpted foot here is cast as though one’s skin had been turned inside out.
Attuned to my body as a point of contact, I wander in quiet dialogue with the world, each footfall a note in the unfolding conversation between self and landscape.
