#16. 佐藤桃子 Momoko Sato《餃子 Dumpling》
[コンセプト Concept]
餃子になるパフォーマンスをしてみました。 これは、私が餃子から感じる優しさや脆さや怖さなどを自分の身体を使い表現した作品です。
餃子、広くとれば、「包まれている」食べ物であったり物であったりは、世界中どの国でも存在してお り、包んで食べる、また、荷物や人への贈り物を包んで渡すなど、人類がどこか共通で使う手法のように 思います。
今回のパフォーマンスの衣装は、餃子の「皮」をイメージし、私の身体は中に包まれている具材、つまり 「肉」です。
その肉は、外部からの衝撃や声かけにより、変形し、柔軟していこうと動きます。
感情を持つ人間である私が「餃子」になるために、そこに自我を排除することを試み、 「包む/包まれる」ということにフォーカスできるような動きにしてみました。
I did a performance in which I became a dumpling.
This is a work in which I used my body to express the tenderness, fragility, and fear that I feel from dumplings.
Gyoza (dumplings), or more broadly, "wrapped" food or objects, exist in every country in the world, and seem to be a technique that all human beings use in some common way, such as wrapping and eating, or wrapping
packages or gifts and giving them to others.
The costume for this performance was inspired by the "skin" of a dumpling, and my body is the ingredient wrapped inside, or "meat”.
The flesh moves to deform and become pliable when it is subjected to external shocks and calls.
In order for me, a human being with emotions, to become a "dumpling", I try to eliminate my ego from it, and I tried to make the movement so that I can focus on "wrapping/being wrapped".

中身の見えないものに、不安を抱く それから同時に、少し気になる
包まれているものが、あるとしよう
あんドーナツ
あんが入っていなくては困る
チーズボール
当然なかはチーズだろう 時間が経てば、チーズは固くなり、美味しくないかもしれない
泥団子
そとはつるつる
でもなかはきっと、ぼろぼろだ いやもしかしたら、しっとりしているかもしれない
餃子
いくつか餃子の種類を知っている 水餃子、揚餃子、それから、焼き餃子 中身が同じでも、それぞれ違う表情を見せてくれる
かんがえてみると、なんだか不思議だ
よし、今日は餃子になるとしよう
I am uneasy about what I can't see inside And at the same time, I'm a little curious
Let's say there is something wrapped in a package An doughnut
It has to have an An (red bean paste) in it
Cheese ball
Of course it's got cheese inside
Over time, the cheese will harden and may not taste as good
Mud dumplings
Smooth on the outside
But I'm sure it's all tattered inside No, maybe it's moist
Gyoza
I know several types of dumplings
Sui-gyoza, Deep-fried gyoza, and Yaki-gyoza
Even if the contents are the same, each has a different look
It's kind of strange when you think about it
All right, let's get to the dumplings today
[作家について About the Artist]
高校 3 年時にアメリカの高校へ留学。
その後、武蔵野美術大学油絵学科油画専攻で学ぶ。 昨年度、東京藝術大学美術研究科グローバルアートプラクティス(GAP)専攻で一年間学んだ後、 現在は、同研究科の先端芸術表現専攻に在籍中。
In my third year of high school, I went to study abroad at a high school in the USA.
Afterwards, I studied for four years at Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting.
Last year, after studying for a year in the Global Art Practice (GAP) department of the Tokyo University of the Arts.
Currently, I am enrolled in the department of the Inter-media Art at the same university.
